When attempting to import a TLG file from Interactive Brokers into TradeLog, you may get the following error message:
"Error getting IB flex data from clipboard. Cannot open clipboard: Access is denied."
You may also get a similar "Access denied" error when trying to import an Excel file for other broker accounts.
This likely means that something on your computer is blocking TradeLog from accessing the clipboard. To fix, please make the appropriate changes to your browser settings, by following the linked instructions below (specific for your default browser), as well as checking the other settings that follow:
1) If your file is running from a OneDrive location (or another cloud location), you should move the file directly onto your hard drive (default location is Documents/tradelog on the C or D drive) and then save backups only in the OneDrive location.
2) Make sure ALL browsers and any trading platforms are completely closed while trying to import, as other programs are known to interfere with TradeLog, especially browsers and other trading software. You may even need to use msconfig to perform a Clean Boot before importing, so that the clipboard isn't blocking by background services such as antivirus software. (See: How to Perform a Clean Boot)
3) Windows can lock the clipboard at times. Try closing & relaunching TradeLog or try WindowsKey + V to launch clipboard manager.
4) Check all of your security settings on your computer to be sure firewalls, anti-virus software, VPNs, etc. are not blocking TradeLog: Internet Connection.
5) You also need to make sure that your "Controlled Folder Access" settings in Windows Defender are allowing permission to TradeLog. See: https://support.tradelogsoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002377754-Windows-Controlled-Folder-Access
