Notes:
Method: See the importing instructions for each broker to learn more about the specific import method(s) available.
Time of Day: Many brokers do not include a time stamp in their trade history. TradeLog automatically matches trades from these brokers using first-in, first-out trade matching rules. If a broker does not report the trades in the exact order of execution, then mismatches can occur.
Short Sales: Many brokers do not flag short sale trades or buys to cover. Therefore TradeLog automatically assigns (AutoAssigns) trades from these brokers either short or long based on first-in, first-out trade matching rules (i.e., if the sell comes before the buy then the trade is marked as short).
Options: Broad-Based Index options are treated as section 1256 contracts by the IRS and therefore do not get reported on IRS Schedule D. TradeLog will identify these trades upon import and classify them accordingly. See our Broad-Based Index Options tax topic for details.
Futures: Most futures brokers do not provide suitable trade history reports to import into TradeLog. See our Futures support topic for details.
Currency Futures: TradeLog offers limited support for Currency Futures at just a few brokers. The reason is that most brokers do not provide suitable trade history reports for TradeLog to properly match trades.
FOREX: TradeLog offers limited support for FOREX trades at just a few brokers. The reason is that most brokers do not provide suitable trade history reports for TradeLog to properly match trades.
