Taxpayer NameThe Taxpayer name is populated from the registered name in TradeLog. To modify this, go to the Data File Settings.

SSN / EINThe Social Security Number (or Employer Identification Number for entities) is populated after Ending Tax Year if the user has entered one in the popup box when running the Form 8949.

Stocks and Options CheckboxTradeLog automatically checks this box if you trade both stocks and options for the same underlying security in taxable accounts.

Multiple Taxable Accounts CheckboxTradeLog automatically checks this box if you have more than one account in your file marked as Regular Cash Basis (Taxable) type.

Non-Taxable IRA(s) CheckboxTradeLog automatically checks this box if you have one or more IRA accounts in your TradeLog file and there are IRA wash sale deferral adjustments that occurred in the tax year.

Erroneous 1099-B Reporting of Wash Sales on Short Sales CheckboxTradeLog automatically detects if this situation applies based on known variables for the tax year. Specifically: (1) if you have short sales of stock in the tax year AND (2) the short sales occurred in an account assigned to a broker which is known to adjust wash sales in this method. See our online listing of known 1099-B reporting problems for specific details.

Different Reporting Rules for Short Sales CheckboxTradeLog will automatically check this box if there are short sales on stock in one or more of your taxable accounts.
