NOTE: Drips get reported the same as stock now. Prior to 2012, DRIPS were classified as non-covered for Form 8949 reporting. After 2012, they are reported the same as stocks, ETF, etc. That's why there is a different DRP-1 type. You can use STK-1 for all dividend reinvestments in your 2025 tax year file.
You must identify stocks that are enrolled in DRIPs so that TradeLog can report these correctly on Form 8949. Since most brokers do not report this information, manual identification and adjustment is required:
To adjust for DRIP identification:
-
Find the ticker that needs to be adjusted for DRIPs using the Find, Ticker function.
-
Select the trade records that are part of the DRIP (See Selecting Multiple Trades for more instructions.)
-
From the Adjustments menu, click Type/Mult (or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + T).
-
The Change Type/Mult popup window will appear.
-
Choose DRP-1 from the dropdown menu.
- Click OK. TradeLog will adjust the Type/Mult column for the selected trades and prompt to save records.
