A number of users have reported Invalid Option Ticker errors when importing data from TD Ameritrade using TradeLog's BrokerConnect feature. Upon investigation, we found that once an option expires worthless, TD Ameritrade may not report the full option ticker details in the data we obtain. We've made a couple of improvements with our newest update.
- When you import your desired date range with BrokerConnect, TradeLog will retrieve that data in 7-day periods (Sunday to Saturday) which we found improves the accuracy of option tickers.
- If option ticker details are still missing from the data, TradeLog now captures the underlying ticker and will list this with "EXPIRED OPT" in the ticker field. This can help you find the option in question on your broker statement, you can then edit and fill in the full option ticker. Click here for instructions on editing option tickers.
