Update on October 18, 2021:
Today we released TradeLog 20! This major update expands functionality, modernizes the user interface, and contains the framework for the redesigned, more secure BrokerConnect feature our team has been developing. Click here to learn more about TradeLog 20.
Currently, Broker Connect is disabled for all brokers except Interactive Brokers and TD Ameritrade. We are in final testing stages of the new BrokerConnect feature for Charles Schwab, E*TRADE, Fidelity, and Tradestation. We anticipate that functionality will be ready to activate before the end of 2021. Afterwhich, BrokerConnect will be expanded for additional brokers.
Please note: the new BrokerConnect feature will only be available in TradeLog 20 once released. Therefore, we encourage all users to transition to this major update now for an easier transition.
Thank you for being a loyal TradeLog customer.
Update on June 28, 2021:
Over these past months our team has been working on a long-term solution for BrokerConnect functionality. Rather than working with individual brokerages, we have chosen to partner with a data aggregation service. This service will allow us to not only restore BrokerConnect functionality for brokers currently supported, but also expand that functionality for many more brokers. This method will also allow us to ensure all BrokerConnect imports use the highest level of data security for our customers.
Our development team initially worked with a data partner to complete testing for authentication methods. However, once we began testing with live data we found out that data provider was limited in the extent and quality of the data they could return. Our management team carefully considered the needs of our customers. We realized that the "solution" was less than ideal and so we made the decision to proceed with a different partner who could provide what we believe will be the best quality data for our customers.
Though this change further delays the release of our new BrokerConnect functionality, we feel its more important to "do it right" for our customers.
When will BrokerConnect be restored? We aren't yet ready to set an exact date. We will soon be releasing version 20 of TradeLog - with major User Interface enhancements and new functionality. Under-the-hood, this update also prepares for the new BrokerConnect. We expect to then roll-out the BrokerConnect functionality in Q3 of this year. Those who have registerd to beta test will be contacted as needed for preliminary release and feedback, you can click here to register.
Update emailed to customers on Feb. 2, 2021:
For several months we’ve been working to resolve different issues with our BrokerConnect import methods for Charles Schwab, E*TRADE, Fidelity, and TradeStation. There have been various challenges, some outside of our control. For example, some brokers put “holds” on any development updates during periods of market volatility (which have been frequent in recent months).
While we maintain alternate import methods for all these brokers, we recognize you prefer BrokerConnect, and these issues cause you inconvenience. We’ve taken a hard look at our approach to provide the best long-term solutions.
Therefore, we recently changed direction and are working with a single data partner to provide a consistent and secure BrokerConnect API for our current brokers – as well as many more. This is the primary focus of our development team and we expect to begin releasing this availability over the next several weeks.
Because this is a major change to our BrokerConnect, we’ll be doing a soft release for qualified users to verify it works in real-life accounts. If you’re interested in receiving an early release, you can click here to register.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused with the BrokerConnect issues and hope that our solution will greatly reduce those issues for years to come.
